To provide a drying control method of a drier that makes it possible to obtain dried products of good quality by stabilizing control of drying temperature in the initial stage of drying, and preventing drying quality from deteriorating in the initial stage of drying, particularly in the case of a drying operation during periods of low temperature.
The drying control method of the drier divides a drying process into three or more processes, and allows the drying of material inside a drying chamber to proceed by reducing, in steps and from the initial stage to the later stage of drying, the quantity of hot air supplied from the inside of a hot air generator into the drying chamber, in accordance with a preset drying program. An initial value is set as the intake temperature of fresh air introduced into the hot air generator when a drying operation is started. The set level of air quantity for each process in the initial stage of drying in the drying program when the intake temperature at the start of the drying operation is not higher than the initial set value is set to be one step lower than the set level of air quantity for each process in the initial stage of drying in the drying program when the intake temperature at the start of the drying operation exceeds the initial set value.
