To easily dry wet refuse collected from a tank of a mountain area or the like wherein a large area can not be secured, and to easily carry out following disposal by drying the wet refuse such as dead leaves, rubbish, soil, and sand by a simple means.

In the drying device for wet refuse, the refuse D containing water collected from the tank P in the mountain area is held a predetermined period in a pipe chute 3 comprising a black vinyl chloride pipe. The pipe chute 3 is slanted to cause a rising updraft in the pipe. An inlet 1 for inputting the wet refuse D is provided in an upper end of the pipe chute 3, and an outlet 2 for delivering dried refuse D and serving also as an air suction opening for sucking in air is provided in its lower end. In the outlet 2 of the pipe chute 3, an aeration structure is provided for taking in air causing the updraft, and a blocking structure 5 is provided for preventing dropping of the wet refuse D.
