To provide a drying device, capable of transferring a thin print substrate without generating any warp or the like due to heat even when the drying device, employing the heat source of infrared ray or the like, is employed.
The drying device is equipped with a carrying passage 14 for carrying a matter to be dried, infrared ray radiators 16, 18 arranged above and/or below the carrying passage, a hot-air circulating passage 20 for circulating hot-air heated by the infrared ray radiators, and a deformation preventing device 50 provided in the carrying passage to prevent the deformation of the matter to be dried, which is moved along the carrying passage, due to heat. The deformation preventing device 50 is a pinching device arranged at both sides of the carrying passage.
