To provide a drying method permitting the full periphery of a drying container to be used for heating and allowing an object to be treated to contact with the inner peripheral wall surface of the drying container in roughly uniform thickness in spite of the widening area of evaporation so as to dry it effectively.
At the time of drying an object to be treated (M) by using a drying device comprising a horizontal drying container (2) having a horizontal axis, a horizontal rotation shaft (30) rotated and driven inside this horizontal drying container, shovel-shaped vanes (32, 32, etc.), fitted to this rotation shaft and chopper vanes (40, 40, etc.), rotated and driven at a relatively high speed; the full inner peripheral wall (11a) of the horizontal drying container (2) is heated by a heating jacket (10). Moreover, the object to be treated (M) is stratified and brought into contact with the inner peripheral wall of the horizontal drying container by the centrifugal force of the vanes (32, 32, etc.). As a result, the object to be treated (M) is heated and dried by the full inner peripheral wall (11a) of the horizontal drying container (2). At this time, agglomerate is sheared and dispersed by the chopper vanes (40, 40, etc.).
