To reduce the work burden in a crease smoothing process and to efficiently finish the washing of massive linen products by reducing the creases left after the washing as much as possible in a method and device for drying the laundry in two processes.
This double barrel drying machine is so formed that a first rotating drum 6 provided in a first drying chamber 2 and a second rotating drum 7 provided in a second drying chamber 3 are mutually inversely rotated, a pile of laundry is put in the first rotating drum 6, the semi-dried laundry is moved from the first rotating drum to the second rotating drum, simultaneously therewith, a next pile of laundry is put in the first rotating drum, and the finish-dried laundry is taken out from the second rotating drum. The rolling directions of the laundry in the first rotating drum 6 and the second rotating drum 7 are inverse, so that the laundry is favorably disentangled without any deviation and the creases left in the finish-dried laundry can be reduced.
