Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve drying section so as to make waste paper easily removable with a least possible suspension of the operation in a drying section.

CONSTITUTION: A drying section of a paper machine has two-felt drying groups 13 with an upper row of cylinders and an upper felt OF and with a lower row of cylinders and a lower felt UF. In each row of cylinders, two adjacent cylinders form a sub-group 18 or 19 having a deflection suction roller 18' or 19' disposed therebetween, respectively. A web 9 to be dried passes alternately through the upper and lower sub-groups. Opposite each deflection suction roller of one row of cylinders, a section of the felt path of the other row of cylinders is provided and the space located therebetween is made free from components.
