To provide a drying system capable of preventing deterioration of powder and granular material due to heating in a molding machine and capable of suppressing yellowing of a molded article, and to provide a drying method using the drying system.
The drying system 1 which dries the powder and granular material and feeds the powder and granular material to the molding machine 2 includes: a first drying unit 3 provided with a first storage hopper 13 for storing the powder and granular material; a second drying unit provided with a second storage hopper 33 which has a capacity smaller than the first storage hopper 13 and is disposed on the molding machine 2; and a transport line 51 which is connected to the first storage hopper 13 and the second storage hopper 33 and transports the powder and granular material from the first storage hopper 13 to the second storage hopper 33. Here, the powder and granular material is dried at a first temperature in the first storage hopper 13, thereafter, is dried at a second temperature higher than the first temperature while performing nitrogen gas substitution in the second storage hopper 33 and, thereafter, is caused to fall from the second storage hopper 33 to the molding machine 2 by own weight.
