Abstract:
To provide surgical tables that occasionally allow adjustment of the table prior to surgery so that patients can be properly supported or held in a fixed position for a particular surgical operation, wherein a patient can be moved to different positions during an operation.
A patient support apparatus 10 includes a foundation frame 12, a support top 14, and a brake system 50. The foundation frame 12 includes a first column 24 and a second column 26. The support top 14 is coupled to the first column 24 and the second column 26 for rotation about a top axis 22 extending along the length of the support top 14.
