Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a laser system for medical use that allows actuation by equipping with the first switch actuated by putting a foot within the housing and the second switch actuated by foot-stepping. CONSTITUTION: A foot switch includes a rectangular metallic housing 20 which has an opening 22 to receive a user's foot F. The standard foot switch 26 is placed in the inside and on the bottom of the housing 20. When an actuator is pushed down, a control signal is generated and the contact point is closed to transmit the generated signal to the laser 32. When the foot F is placed within the housing 20, a door panel 36 moves upward, driving a cam member 38 installed on the door panel 36 to the contact point of a switch 44. When the contact point of the switch is closed, a control signal is generated and supplied to the laser 32. A doctor's foot is placed within the housing 20 fairly before the actuation of a foot pedal 26 so that a pre-adjusted cycle is completed, and generation and irradiation of laser are performed simultaneously.
