To provide a duplex pipe end working method for uniformizing the thickness of an inner pipe capable of preventing the generation of a burr at the end of a connecting rib, and reducing the generation of cutting powder, and to provide a duplex pipe end working apparatus.
Using a cutting tool 30, connecting ribs 13 are cut off along the axial direction from the end face of a duplex pipe 10 which is chucked and held by an outer pipe 11 (rib cutting step). Next, slits 21 are formed at the outer pipe and the connecting ribs 13 at positions away from the end face of the duplex pipe 10 corresponding to the exposed length of the inner pipe 12 (slit forming step). The cutting tool comprises a guide hole 31 into which the inner pipe is inserted while guiding the inner pipe outer peripheral surface 12a, a cutting device 32 for cutting the connecting ribs, and a guide pin 33 which is disposed in the guide hole and inserted into the inner pipe while guiding the inner pipe inner peripheral surface 12b. The cutting device has a cutting device tip 32a for cutting the connecting ribs and a cutting device body 32b for swaging the inner pipe after cutting the connecting ribs in a space between the guide pin and the cutting device body.
