Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption and to detect a fault of an active system by a standby system by providing a device detecting a fault of other system and stopping a clock signal for a period other than periods when communication making a standby system storage content coincident with the active system is conducted.
CONSTITUTION: An active system storage section 02 activates a signal line O2 and sends data via a signal line (b). When other system monitor section 14 of a standby system detects it that the signal line O2 is available of operation, a clock control section 13 starts supply of a clock signal. A standby system storage section 12 uses the clock signal to receive data sent from the active system storage section 02. When the transmission of data is finished, the active system storage section 02 inactivates the signal line O2. The monitor section 14 detecting the change stops the supply of the clock signal. When the monitor section 14 detects it that the change in the signal line O2 is not caused for a prescribed time or over, an alarm is noticed to the control section 11. The standby system informs occurrence of fault in the inter-system communication to a host device 300.
