To provide a dust collecting apparatus capable of securing dust collecting capability of a conventional level by electrically charging dust by scarcely flowing discharging current, and at the same time capable of securing high dust collecting ability while dramatically reducing consumed power in the case of using a filter in a dust collecting part, and to provide an air-conditioning apparatus with the dust collecting ability.
The dust collecting apparatus is constituted of an ion releasing means releasing ions without carrying out corona discharge and the dust collecting part 104 arranged in the downstream side of the same, discharging electrodes of the ion releasing means are one or more needle-like electrodes 2 having sharp distal ends, insulators or semiconductors are arranged around the distal end parts of the needle-like electrodes 2 so as not to generate the corona discharge, discharging current per needle-like electrode 2 is 1 μA or less, an electroconductive grid plate 109 grounded is arranged in the downstream side of the needle-like electrodes 2, the filter 108 comprising a filter material and constituting the dust collecting part 104 is arranged between the needle-like electrodes 2 and the grid plate 109.
