To provide a dust collection method for a blast furnace ore tank by which the dust collection for the ore tank can be started simultaneously with the charging of raw material, and generated dust can be sufficiently collected as a result.

Ore tank equipment charges raw material into a plurality of ore tanks 2 juxtaposed adjacent to each other by moving a tripper 3 serving as a charging tank installed in a freely traveling manner with respect to the ore tanks. A dust collection device 4 is installed in the ore tank equipment and collect the dust generated during the charge of the raw material through a dust collection pipe 6 having a damper provided for each ore tank. A method for controlling the dust collection device is characterized in that the dust collection is started while the damper of the ore tanks into which the raw material is charged is in an open state before the tripper reaches one of the ore tanks to start the charging of the raw material. It is preferable to control the opening/closing operation of the damper by outputting the damper opening/closing command signal based on the destination command signal of the tripper to be used for the travel control of the tripper, and the position detection signal of the tripper.
