To provide a dust collector for an elevator capable of eliminating inspection of the dust deposited on a filter and reducing the replacing frequency of the filter.
The dust collector of the elevator is equipped with wind ducts 6 and 7 through which a suction hole 4 to be open in one side of the ceiling 3 of an elevator car room 2 is in communication outside the car room 2 to an exhaust hole 5 to be open in the other side, an air-conditioner 8 installed on the way of the wind ducts 6 and 7 and sucking the air inside the car room 2 from the suction hole 4 and discharging from the exhaust hole 5, and a filter cassette 10 installed in the wind ducts 6 and 7 on the side of the suction hole 4 and filtrating the circulating outer air for removing the dust, wherein the filter cassette 10 has a filter element 11 in the shape of a long stretching band, a winding roll 13 on which one end in longitudinal direction of the filter element 11 is wound round and which is rotated for taking up the filter element 11, and a supply roll on which the other end in longitudinal direction of the filter element 11 is wound round and which sends out the filter element 11 when it is rotated.
