To provide a dust collector which collects microparticles, when backwashing is made, to prevent the microparticles from adhering to a filter cloth when dust collection is started again, consequently to restrain a pressure loss from increasing and make its maintenance easy; and to provide a method for operating the dust collector when backwashing is made.
The dust collector 100 includes a bag filter 101 which is provided with a filter cloth 111 which hangs down in a dust chamber 110 and a backwashing dust-collecting filter cloth 112, and brushes off dust 117, which is collected on the external side of the filter cloth when backwashing is made, and then collects the brushed-off dust by means of the backwashing dust-collecting filter cloth. A method for operating the dust collector is provided. In addition, the dust collector includes a bag filter which is provided with a filter cloth which hangs down in a dust chamber, and brushes off dust, which is collected on the external side of the filter cloth when backwashing is made, and then collects the brushed-off dust by means of another filter cloth in the same bag filter or a filter cloth in another bag filter. A method for operating the dust collector is provided.
