Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a back plate of a brake pad for disk brake of automobile engine and the like from becoming rusty.
CONSTITUTION: A TiN coading layer is formed on a surface of an iron-made back plate main body via a Cr plating layer. Owing to the precoat layer of Cr, the TiN rust-proof coating layer can be formed well in a close contact manner. The commercial value of back plate is therefore enhanced owing to the TiN colored gold and the mechanical strength can be improved owing to the highly hard TiN.
