To provide a dust treatment apparatus efficiently generating evaporated matter containing heavy metals, while simplifying the apparatus structure by eliminating a dust collector like a cyclone device.
In the dust treatment apparatus 1, dust D present in a packed layer 2 in an inner casing 3 is irradiated with microwaves via a space 4 formed by being surrounded with a side part 3a of the inner casing 3 and an outer casing 5 and a microwave permeable material 20 formed on the side part 3a of the inner casing 3, and the dust D is heated to generate the evaporated matter. The microwave permeable material 20 is configured with a porous ceramic filter 21 allowing permeation of the evaporated matter and not allowing dust D. A suction means 11 for sucking gas in the space 4 from outer space side is provided. The suction means 11 sucks the gas from the inner casing 3 to an outer space via the space 4 while filtering the evaporated matter generated in the inner casing 3 in the porous ceramic filter 21.
