To attain an improved fuction by elevating a movable floor between a ceiling a fixed floor by means of elevation means composed of sprocket and chain.
To a pair of support columns 31 and another column, upper sprockets 32A, 32B and a lower sprocket 34 or lower sprocket 39 are arranged, and an opening into which a mounting plate of a movable floor 7 is formed on one side. At four corners of room each support column is erected, the sprocket 39 is connected to a motor 16, main chains 44 are layed across a part between the sprockets 32A, 34 of the support column 31 and the sprockets 32A, 39A of another support column, and each chain 44 is connected to the floor 7. Furthermore, endless chains 45 is layed between the respective sprockets 32B of the support column 31 and another support column, and by driving the motor 16 each sprocket is synchronizedly rotated to wind up or down the four chains 44 simultaneously. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent droppage of the floor when the chain is broken and also prevent severe swinging of the floor itself at the time of earthquake.
