To provide a dye composition capable of forming a near-infrared cut filter which achieves both transparency in the visible region and shielding from near-infrared rays having wavelength of 680-1000 nm.SOLUTION: The dye composition contains a squarylium-based compound (a) having a chemical structure represented by general formula (1) in the figure, and contains a dithiolate complex compound and/or a cyanine compound, where the dithiolate complex compound and the cyanine compound have absorption maxima at wavelength of 900-1200 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
