To obtain a dye for a decorating material, especially a dye of neutral gray and magenta color which has improved high temp. stability, by incorporating a coloring component containing a molecular sieve which carries at least one element of a specified metal group and/or one kind of its metal compd., and incorporating a molten glass.
A molecular sieve is impregnated with at least one metal compd., metal colloid soln. or dispersion, or liquid metal compd. of metals V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, An, Ag, Au, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt, and then dried, or dried and calcined to obtain a coloring component having 0.01 to 20 wt.% metal or metal compd. deposited on the molecular sieve. A molten glass and the coloring component are mixed by 10 to 1 weight ratio and completely homogenized to obtain a dye for a decorating material. The obtd. dye for a decorating material is applied on a base body and baked by using a high- temp. fast calcining machine at 1,000 to 1,400°C to obtain a ceramic decorating material.
