To obtain a dye mixture which can dye or print a hydroxyl- or nitrogen-contg. fiber material in a color tone excellent in fastness, etc., by reacting a specific amino compd., a diamine, a halotriazine, etc.
About 1mol equivalent of a compd. represented by the formula: D-NH-R1 (wherein D is a chromophore such as a monoazo or anthraquinone group; and R1 is H or a 1-6C alkyl) is reacted with about 1mol equipment of a halotriazine represented by formula I (wherein X is a halogen, etc.) and 0.5-1mol equivalent of a diamine represented by the formula: R2-NH-B-NH-R3 (wherein R2 and R3 are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; and B is an org. bridging member). The resulting product is reacted with a reaction product of a compd. represented by the formula: V-H (wherein V is hydroxyl, a 1-4C alkoxy, phenoxy, a 1-4C alkylthio, morpholino, amino, etc.) with a compd. represented by formula II (wherein X1 is the same as X), thus giving a dye mixture contg. compds. represented by formulas III and IV, each of these compds. having at least one sulfo group.
