To provide a dye-sensitized solar cell capable of obtaining high transfer efficiency, even when the thickness of a porous semiconductor layer is made large or the like, and to provide its manufacturing method.
The dye-sensitized solar cell 10 is provided with a transparent substrate 12, a transparent conductive film 14, and a conductive substrate constituted of a conductive film 16 and a substrate 18, and has a porous semiconductor layer 20 and an electrolyte 22, having an absorbed dye between the transparent conductive film 14 and the conductive substrate. The porous semiconductor layer 20 is constituted of a conductive layer portion 20a, having tin oxide as a main component, a first porous semiconductor layer portion 20b installed on the surface on the side facing the transparent substrate 14 of the conductive layer portion 20a and a second porous semiconductor layer portion 20c installed on the other surface of the conductive layer portion 20a. The conductive layer portion 20a has a through hole 21 and is electrically connected to the transparent conductive film 14.
