Title:
DYEING OF CHENILLE WOVEN OR KNIT FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59150107
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the falling off of the binding yarn, and to enable uniform dyeing of a chenille woven or knit fabric wherein the binding yarns are constituted mainly of ultrafine fibers, by carrying out the jet dyeing of the fabric under specific condition.

CONSTITUTION: A chenille woven or knit fabric (e.g. velveteen, velvet, etc.) composed of binding yarn containing ≥30% of ultrafine fiber (e.g. polyester fiber) having a single filament fineness of ≤1.5 denier, preferably ≤0.5 denier, is subjected to jet dyeing with a jet dyeing machine under the conditions to satisfy the formulas 20≥V/L≥0.2, A≥50, and T≤0.7 [V is velocity of the fabric (m/min); L is length of the fabric (m); A is cross-sectional area of flow-pipe or nozzle; T is average rate of temperature increase (°C/min) above 60°C and within 20°C around the temperature to maximize the rate of dyeing].

EFFECT: The fabric has soft feeling.
