PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dyeing composition for the coloring of human keratin fiber, especially hair, etc., in brilliant and highly durable color by including an oxidation base and a specific cationic direct dye in a medium.
SOLUTION: The objective composition is produced by incorporating (A) a medium with (B) one or more kinds of oxidation bases and (C) one or more kinds of cationic direct dyes of formula A-N=N-B {A is a group of formula I, formula II [R1 is a 1-4C alkyl or a (substituted)phenyl; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; R3 and R4 are each a 1-4C alkyl or phenyl, or together form a (substituted) benzene ring; R3 may be H; R5 and R6 are each a 1-4C alkyl or phenyl or together form a (substituted)benzene ring; R5 may be H; Z is O, S or NR2; X- is an anion] or the like; B is a group of formula III (R10 is a halogen such as Cl and I, H or the like; R11 is a halogen such as Cl and I, a 1-4C alkyl or the like; R12 is H, OH or the like) or the like}.
