Title:
DYNAMIC MOTION DAMPING OF ARTIFICIAL SATELLITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007261575
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an improved dynamic motion damping means and method for an artificial satellite and other spacecrafts.

The spacecraft attitude control system is equipped with an attitude control processor (ACP) 58 for generating an attitude change command 46, a control moment gyroscope (CMG) 52 which is connected to a spacecraft 24 and which changes orientation of the spacecraft through the execution of the attitude change command, and a motion damping controller (MDC) 80 which is connected between the CMG and ACP and which receives the attitude change command 46 from the ACP and passes the command to the CMG for execution during normal operation of SACS (50) (i), and which corrects the motion of the CMG so as to gradually decelerate to a prescribed still state any rotation by the aircraft existing when the attitude change command 46 is made disable or unavailable or interrupted or when in an emergency operation mode of the combination thereof.
