Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve load capacity of the axial ends of a dynamic pressure gas bearing and rigidity of the bearing.
CONSTITUTION: Regarding a dynamic pressure gas bearing, which supports a rotation shaft 4 by mounting three or more pads 3 on a bearing housing 1 in the circumferential direction through pivots 2 and forming a gas film between the rotation shaft 4 and the pads, a booster groove 6 is provided on at least either the surface of the axial ends of the rotation shaft 4 or the surface of the axial ends of the pad 3 and the bearing between the rotation shaft 4 and the pad 3 is raised by forcing gas in the axial direction.
