PURPOSE: To improve the roughness of the surface of a groove bottom by arranging a metallic plate having a lot of through holes being joined to a bearing surface, applying coating to the bearing surface through the though holes of the plate, machining the coated layer, and forming a dynamic pressure generation groove of the specified depth after removing the plate from the bearing surface.
CONSTITUTION: In forming a dynamic pressure generation groove M, thermal spraying is applied through the through holes of the metallic plate 10 joined to the base material 1 or through hole of the sleeve fitted to the base material 1. That is, since shot blast is not applied to the groove M in being formed, the surface of the base metal 1 remains as it is on the surface of a groove bottom. Therefore, if the surface roughness of the base material 1 remains excellent, an excellent bottom surface of the groove M corresponding to the surface roughness of the base material 1 can be obtained. Therefore, the dynamic pressure generation groove M of highly accurate groove depth allowance can be obtained. In addition, since the accuracy of the groove M is high, the formation of a shallow dynamic pressure generation groove M is possible.
