PURPOSE: To provide the dynamic type transfer gate frequency divider which has a faster operation speed than a conventional dynamic type.

CONSTITUTION: This dynamic type transfer gate frequency divider has four transfer gates TG1-TG4 four inverters V1-V4, and a set terminal RST; and the input terminal of the V1 is connected to the output terminal of the TG1, the input terminal of the TG2 to the output terminal of the V1, the input terminal of the V2 to the output terminal of the TG2, and the input terminal of the TG3 to the output terminal of the V2. Further, the transfer gate TG3 and inverter V3, transfer gate TG4 and inverter V4 are connected similarly to the connections and the output terminal of the V4 is connected to the input terminal of the TG1; and the output terminals of the V2 and V4 are used as output terminals QQ and QB and a setting circuit SS1 which initializes at least one of pairs of the output terminals of the TG1 and TG3, TG2 and TG4, V1 and V3, and V2 and V4 to mutually opposite logical levels is connected between the couple of the output terminals.
