Abstract:
To provide a method and a related system for automatically avoiding address conflict when establishing a safe communication link on a public network between a local computer associated with a local network and a remote computer located outside the local network.SOLUTION: In order to avoid address conflict, an address reserved for use by a local network and an address reserved for use by a remote network are determined. At least one local address is selected from usable local addresses so that the address is an address that does not conflict with the address reserved for the local network or the address reserved for the remote network. The selected local address is used in relation to establishing a safe communication link between the local computer and the remote computer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
