Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamo-electric brake in which a control program capable of adjusting a pad clearance automatically when an ignition key is turned ON from OFF is assembled in the brake control device for the dynamo-eleCtric brake.
SOLUTION: A dynamo-electric brake with pad clearance adjusting mechanism is provided with an ignition switch detecting means 7, a brake command detecting means 5, a parking brake detecting means 6, a brake control device 2, a piston position sensor 1d, and an electric actuator 1c. Also the brake control device 2 operates the electric actuator 1c when the ignition switch detecting means 7 detects that the switch is turned ON from OFF so as to generate a slight brake torque in the electric brake. The piston position at that time is set as an initial position, and the position to which the piston is returned by a previously set amount of pad clearance from the initial position is set as the home position. Then a brake command is given by the operation of a brake pedal so as to operate the electric brake and, when the command is eliminated, the piston is returned to the home position so as to provide a specified pad clearance.
