The system comprises a mail receiving notice condition setting table 100 for setting conditions for performing receiving notice to a user when an e-mail has been received from the external, a mail receiving notice managing part 101 for receiving instructions and results of mail search and program search with reference to a mail box 107, an electronic program list (EPG104), a clock 105 and the mail receiving notice condition setting table 100, and a mail searching part 102 for searching a mail box 107 by the instruction of the mail receiving notice managing part 101. Due to such a construction, the system performs mail receiving notice to the user in accordance with the setting contents of the mail receiving notice condition setting table 100.
