To provide a method for efficiently extracting Am(III), Cm(III), and Ln(III) ions existing in an aqueous acidic solution, especially in a high level wastewater generated from recycling treatment of spent nuclear fuel.
Am, Cm and rare earth elements are extracted to an organic solvent, for example, n-dodecane, from a variety of aqueous solutions containing widely various nuclear species with an extraction agent of a diglycol amide compound containing two amido groups and having a structure in which these amido groups are bonded with a functional group, CH2-O-CH2, containing O in the ether form, that is, an extraction agent possible to form tridentate coordination and having the structural formula; R1R2NCOCH2OCH2CONR3R4 (wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each separately an alkyl defined as CnH2n+1).
