Abstract:
To provide an earth retaining structure and a ground open-cut method, capable of suppressing degradation of timbering effect of struts and capable of realizing efficient open-cut construction, unaffected by installation of timbering to the whole area of an open-cut area, for the large scale open-cut construction of which the open-cut area extends to a wide area.SOLUTION: An earth retaining structure 70 formed upon open-cut of the ground G comprises: a pair of first earth retaining walls 10 that retain at least a pair of excavated wall surfaces forming an open-cut area; and a pair of second earth retaining walls 20 that is arranged in the middle of a span s between the pair of the first earth retaining wall 10 to section the open-cut area, wherein a ground block 40, which is the ground or a ground improvement body, is positioned between the pair of the second earth retaining wall 20, and the second earth retaining wall 20 retains a wall surface of the ground block 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
