Title:
EARTH SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3036487
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable stable angle measurement of high precision without causing mechanical resonance, and realize a small-sized and light-weight apparatus, by constituting an infrared radiation detector of a plurality of pixels arranged at specified intervals in the scanning direction of a substrate and in the direction perpendicular to the scanning direction.
SOLUTION: An infrared radiation detecting element (infrared radiation detector) 11 is arranged on a substrate 31 on which an image I of earth is formed, and detects the image I. This detector is constituted by arranging a plurality of pixels 32 at specified intervals, in the east west(E-W) direction (electron scanning directon) as the pitch angle measuring direction of the substrate 31, and in the north south(N-S) direction (direction perpendicular to the scanning direction). The center C of the detecting element 11 is made to coincide with the optical axis of an earth sensor, the number of pixels from the pixel 32c at the center C to the pixels 32w of the west end is counted, and a pixel output θw is obtained. In the same manner, the number of pixels from the pixels 32c to the element 32E of the east end is counted, and a pixel output θE is obtained. From the pixel outputs θE, θW, a pitch angle θP is obtained. From the pixel output θN, θS, a roll angle θR is obtained.
