PURPOSE: To obtain a small-sized earthquake bearing gently moving vertically and horizontally by providing a pair of elastic layers with a spherical clearance and a cylindrical elastic pad to support a spherical ball, and providing a pair of bearing housings.

CONSTITUTION: Elastic pads 18, 19 are provided between upper and lower bearing housings 11, 12, and a cylindrical elastic body having a spherical clearance 25 inside is formed to support a ball 26. Cylindrical elastic pads 18, 19 have a radius at least twice as large as the ball 26 and circular grooves 27, 28. Load of a structure is transmitted to the foundation by a base plate 13, flanges 20, 21 and a base plate 14, and shifted to vertical and horizontal directions by the elastic pads 18, 19 and the ball 26 only in the case of shock due to an earthquake. Accordingly, the bearing can be reduced in size and gently moved vertically and horizontally.
