Abstract:

To improve an earthquake sensing accuracy by mounting a car vibration detector for detecting the vibration of an elevator car and activating predetermined control operation when an earthquake sensing device and the car vibration detector are simultaneously activated.

When an earthquake happens, a machine room 2 is vibrated at 130gal to activate an earthquake sensing device 10, thereby urging a relay 13. Since the machine room 2 is considerably vibrated but a car 3 is vibrated only at 10gal by this earthquake, a car vibration detector 11 is not activated. Since a contact 14a is open in this case, an earthquake control operation command device 15 is in an invalid state and an earthquake control operation is not activated. If the car 3 is vibrated at 100gal, the car vibration detector 11 is activated to urge a relay 14 and to close contacts 13a, 14a, whereby the earthquake control operation command device 15 produces output and immediately activates the earthquake control operation. Since the earthquake control operation is performed when the vibration of the whole building including an elevator is larger than a predetermined value, the earthquake sensing accuracy is improved.
