To improve horizontal yield strength of a foundation structure of an existing building having a pile foundation, and to secure safety at earthquake by increasing piles in the peripheral ground of the existing building, arranging a slab between pile heads of the piles and the existing building, and joining these pile heads and existing building via the slab.
A building 1 by applying an earthquake resistant reinforcing structure A is formed by newly increasing a new building 3 adjacently to an existing building 2 to integrate these buildings 2, 3. That is, the existing building 2 has foundation piles 4, and the foundation piles 4 are constituted so as not to reach up to the support ground for constituting a lower layer of the ground. While extension piles 6 forming a lower structure of the new building 3 are driven so that the tips reach up to the support ground, and these existing building 2 and new building 3 are arranged so as to reach an outer peripheral wall 8 of the existing building 2 from pile heads 6b of the extension piles 6 to be mutually connected by a slab 7 integrally formed with the pile heads 6b of the extension piles 6.
