Title:
EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT-STRUCTURE COPING WITH WIND LOAD AND BUILDING THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07279478
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce responses of a building against earthquakes, by making effective the rigidity of the rigidity element of wind load only within true range exceeding toe interlayer deformation corresponding to a gap.

CONSTITUTION: Braces 3 as a rigidity element of wind load are arranged to form an X-shaped structure in a structure composed of posts 1 and beams 2 and a specified gap is provided by use of loose holes 4 at the connection part with the structure. Any shearing forces are not brought in the rigidity elements of wind load until the deformation corresponding to the gap and the rigidity as a rigidity element of wind load becomes effective when deforming. In the case of a smaller force than the interlayer deformation corresponding to the gap, only the structure resists against the story shear force and the rigidity element of wind load does not substantially resist. Design against earthquake loads is executed in this range and the responses on earthquaking can be lessened. When the interlayer deformation exceeds that corresponding to the gap, the rigidity of the rigidity element of wind load is added to the rigidity of the structure. The design is executed so that the stress in the structure in this range is smaller than the allowable stress.
