PURPOSE: To form an earthquake resisting vibration control device in a compact state and to operate a stopper function in all directions by providing a vibration control member at an interior with a coupling part consisting of the lower protrusion end part of an upper fitting in the direction of a coil axis and the upper protrusion end part of a lower fitting, and fitting the coupling part in so that the two protrusion end parts are movable with a given clearance therebetween.
CONSTITUTION: An upper fixing bolt 1 and a lower protrusion end part 5 are integrally formed and the integral object and an upper fitting 3 are welded together. A lower fixing bolt 2 and an upper protrusion end part 8 are integrally formed and the integral object and a lower fitting 4 are welded together. Further, a coupling part is provided through which the lower and upper protrusion end parts 5 and 8 are fitted in with a given clearance therebetween. When a load is applied, a vibration control member 11 is compressed for deformation and the coupling part is freely movable in a range of a clearance in a vertical and a horizontal direction. Thus, during normal vibration, the function of the vibration member 11 is prevented from being damaged but during a strong earthquake exceeding a range of the clearance, movement of the coupling part is regulated and performs a function as a stopper to prevent the occurrence of fall-down.
