Abstract:
To provide an earthquake strengthening method capable of improving earthquake resistance of existing building without damaging aesthetic value of the building and without blocking a view from a window.SOLUTION: A sash 4 assembled into an opening part 3 of a front surface of a pencil shape building 1 as existing building is removed. An earthquake resisting wall in steel plate 5 is assembled into the opening part 3 from which the sash 4 is removed. A strengthening glass 7 is mounted to an opening part 6 of the earthquake resisting wall in steel plate 5. For a wall surface not functioning as a bearing wall, the sash 4 is replaced by the earthquake resisting wall in steel plate 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
