Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moisture-proof paper capable of being recycled as waste paper and having an excellent moisture-proof property by coating a moisture- proof coating containing a phyllosilicate compound and a specific styrene- butadiene copolymer latex on at least one side of a paper support.
SOLUTION: This easily disintegrable moisture-proof paper is obtained by coating a moisture-proof coating on at least one side of a paper support. The moisture-proof coating comprises a phyllosilicate salt compound, such as white mica or silk mica, preliminarily treated with a coupling agent, and a styrene- butadiene copolymer latex in a solid weight ratio of 30:70 to 70:30. The styrene- butadiene copolymer latex has a gel fraction of 80-99%, a glass transition point temperature of -10 to 40°C, has functional groups having active hydrogens and contains an alkali metal ion and ammonium ion in amounts of 0.05-1 wt.% and 0.1-2 wt.%, respectively, based on the solid content.
