Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the copolymer of olefinically unsatd. carboxylic acid, easy to disperse and handle.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymer is the copolymer of at least one olefinically unsatd. carboxylic acid or acid anhydride having at least one active carbon-to- carbon olefinic double bond of more than 15 wt.% based on the wt. of the copolymer, at least one carboxyl group, at least one steric stabilizer having at least one hydrophilic moiety and at least one hydrophobic moiety, comprising linear block or random comb configuration, or mixtures thereof. The polymer is produced by polymerizing olefinically unsatd. carboxylic acid monomers and a steric stabilizer in the presence of a radical forming catalyst in an org. media.
