To largely extend the life of an eccentric body shaft of an eccentrically oscillating reduction gear to thereby further improve the durability of the eccentrically oscillating reduction gear.
In the eccentrically oscillating reduction gear 12 configured so that external gears 24A, 24B are internally meshed with an internal gear 28 while being oscillated eccentrically or with deflection through the eccentric body shaft 20, the eccentric body shaft 20 is subjected to a hardening treatment having a characteristic such that the ratio of A2/A1 is 1.0 or less to the eccentric body shaft, wherein A1 is a rise height resulting from an impression rise test performed before giving a thermal load to change the material characteristic of the eccentric body shaft 20 and A2 is a rise height resulting from an impression rise test performed after the thermal load is given to the eccentric body shaft 20.
