To miniaturize a whole device by reducing a spatial volume required for vapor-liquid separation compared to a conventional economizer of a gravity separation type.
An economizer of a refrigerator separates a refrigerant, which is a gas-liquid two-phase flow obtained from a liquid refrigerant passing through an expansion valve from a condenser, into a refrigerant liquid to be sent to an evaporator and a refrigerant gas to be sent to the intermediate pressure part of a compressor. The economizer includes an inflow part through which the gas-liquid two-phase flow refrigerant flows in, a centrifugation part for swirling the refrigerant fed through the inflow part so as to separate the refrigerant into the refrigerant liquid and the refrigerant gas, a refrigerant gas outflow part through which the separated refrigerant gas flows out, and a refrigerant liquid outflow part through which the separated refrigerant liquid flows out.
