Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for chrome tanning not only improved in full absorption from tanning liq. but also guaranteeing larger filling, better flexibility and hard grain-projected surfaces.

CONSTITUTION: The delimed and acid-washed bare pelt is pretreated with an anionic, colloidal silicate soln., added with an aldehyde-and/or a keto-carboxylic acid together with or without other org. and/or inorg. acid to be admixed, and then tanned.
