Abstract:
PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in the torque characteristics of the eddy current coupling by a method wherein a sintered alloy, consisting of a magnetic material and a low resistance conductive material, is used for the magnetic drum of the eddy current coupling. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic drum 3a of the eddy current coupling is formed in such a manner that a sintered alloy, consisting of a low resistance conductive material of several % - several ten % is used for the magnetic material, said sintered alloy is mixed with magnetic powder and low resistance conductive powder, and they are compressed and sintered. Iron is used for said magnetic material, and aluminum and the like, which fits to iron, are used for the low resistance conductive material. As a result, the eddy current circuit of a magnetic drum can be brought into low impedance without lowering the permeability of the magnetic circuit of the magnetic substance drum, thereby enabling to improve the torque characteristics.
