Abstract:
To provide an eddy current damper capable of suppressing excessive temperature rise of a conductive member and a permanent magnet.SOLUTION: An eddy current damper 1 comprises a screw shaft 2, a ball nut 3, a magnet holding member 4, a ventilation flue 5, a first permanent magnet 6, a second permanent magnet 7, and a conductive member 8. The cylindrical magnet holding member 4 is fixed to the ball nut 3. The ventilation flue 5 is provided in the magnet holding member 4, and inclined to an axis direction C of the magnet holding member 4. The first permanent magnet 6 is adjacent to the ventilation flue 5 in a circumferential direction of the magnet holding member 4, and fixed to the magnet holding member 4. The second permanent magnet 7 is adjacent to the first permanent magnet 6 with the ventilation flue 5 held therebetween in a circumferential direction of the magnet holding member 4, and is fixed to the magnet holding member 4, and a magnetic pole thereof is arranged inversely to that of the first permanent magnet 6. The cylindrical conductive member 8 has conductivity, and is opposite to the first permanent magnet 6 and the second permanent magnet 7 at intervals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
