Title:
EDGE CONNECTOR SHIELD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH076821
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable easy attachment without necessity of providing any holes in a circuit board, by equipping a shield with an arm part for fixing it to the circuit board. CONSTITUTION: A shield 36 has side surfaces 62 to 66, and surfaces standing opposite to each other include an arm 72 which is clamped on an edge part 70 of a board 22. The arm 72 has an external arm part 74 extending below the board along a board edge part 70 and an internal arm part 76 extending downward below a board lower part surface. The part 76 has a clamp end part 80 for pressing against the board lower part surface and the shield 36 is thereby clamped on the board 22. The board has a conductive trace 50 grounded to its upper part surface. The shield is made up of sheet metal and has tabs 52, 54 on its lower end parts existing on the conductive trace 50. The shield is clamped on the board like this and its tabs are held on the trace grounded to the board without necessity of boring any holes in the board.
