PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of accurately detecting edge.SOLUTION: Disclosed edge detection device includes: determination means that determines at least one of a distance between maximum pixels as the pixels the tone value of which is the maximum value and a distance between minimum pixels as the pixels the tone value of which is the minimum value on the basis of an input image; and detection means that detects an edge from the input image with a detection sensitivity based on the distance determined by the determination means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
