Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to sew up the edge in accordance with kinds of textures by dividing a needle rod provided with vertically moving sewing needles into two parts along the longitudinal direction and attaching sewing needles respectively to both divided needle rods and vertically moving one of sewing needles or both in accordance with textures.
CONSTITUTION: A needle rod vertically moved along needle rod guides 12, 13 through a crank link 10 by the revolution of a crank shaft is divided to the right and left two needles 5, 6, and right and left needles 3, 4 are attached to the respective needle rods 5, 6 with fixing screws. These needles 3, 4 are changed over to one or both in use by the manipulation of right and left push buttons 14, 15. That is, when the needle rod with two needles positions at the upper dead point, the right push botton 14 is pushed to the left to move a needle rod connection pin 16 to the left and the needle rod is brought to have only one needle by releasing the connection of the left needle rod with the link 10. When the right needle rod 5 positions at the upper dead point in this condition, both needle rods 5, 6 are brought to two needle condition in which they are jointed to each other by the connection rod 16.
